For CTX this immersion WILL damage the pan. For Scanpan Classic and Professional, the process is quite safe. First, immersing the Classic or Professional pan in cold water while the pan is still hot will generate steam that literally steams off any food residue. The pan will not warp or buckle because of its extra thick base. Secondly the stiff bristle brush will not damage the ceramic-titanium surface because the surface is very hard.
